You can bring up to three pieces of personal luggage for free.
This includes:
Two large items (like suitcases or big rucksacks)
One piece of hand luggage
Can I bring a pram or carrycot on board?
Yes — prams and carrycots are welcome on our trains.
Just head to the carriage with the most available space to make your journey easier.
Are wheelchairs allowed on ScotRail trains?
Absolutely. Most of our trains have designated wheelchair spaces, including those suitable for battery-operated wheelchairs as long as the wheel size matches that of self-propelled models.
If you need support getting on or off the train, you can find full details on our Accessible Travel pages.
What about other large items?
If you're carrying something that isn’t luggage, a pram or a bike, it must be no more than 1 metre long in any single dimension.
